Conservation of bio-diversity of Kadalundi-Vallikkunnu Community Reserve and its adjoining landscape especially the mangrove Eco-system and wet land birds with the involvement of local community and other stakeholders focusing on sustainable collection of natural resources with mutual commitments.

Objectives

• To conserve and manage the bio-diversity of the Community Reserve through participatory process.
• To manage and improve the resources in the wet land eco-system for sustainable use.
• To enrich watershed quality to improve water regime and habitat for wildlife and local community.
• To develop eco-development programmes to ensure participation of local community in protection.
• To promote eco-tourism without damaging the natural eco-system to enhance the economy of local community for reducing negative impact on the eco-system.
• To promote conservation education and develop the Community Reserve as a centre of excellence for education, research on mangrove and wetlands.
