Bird Survey

The birds are the indicators of the eco-system health. The Community Reserve area is the flocking and halting place of large number of migratory birds. Due to global warming and related climate change the number of migratory birds visiting the area is found to be reduced.

The CRMC conducts population estimation of birds at regular intervals with bird watchers to obtain the population trends and conducting periodic cleaning programmes with the help of local community, school student, volunteers and stakeholders to remove the waste materials dumped/ floating in the water body and mangrove forests and remove materials that are harmful to birds (like fishing nets, snares etc.)
